Dear family,

An unusual year is coming to an end, which I hope you have survived in good health.

Like all of us, the Family Federation was affected by Covid-19 this year. The pandemic threw a wrench in our plans and prevented our meetings. This especially affected the Intermediate Family Day, which was supposed to take place in Munich in May 2020, but which we unfortunately had to cancel due to Corona. Full of hope for next year, we have planned the Intermediate Family Day in Munich for the Ascension weekend from Thursday, May 13, to Sunday, May 16, 2021. However, against the background of the current infection situation, this date - despite the foreseeable availability of a vaccine - unfortunately still seems very doubtful at this point in time. We will inform you as soon as possible whether the Intermediate Family Day 2021 can take place or not.

We have used the time in the lockdown and started to design a website for the Zahn family and to work out the first pages. We are still at the beginning, but we hope to be able to give a first impression soon. We expect that you will be able to visit the website at www.familiezahn.de in mid-January. In the coming months, we will gradually expand the content and functionality of the website. In the course of this, the internal area for members will also be set up, as we are currently still working on a data protection compliant and easy to maintain solution for the administration of users and passwords. We will keep you informed about our progress and are looking forward to your feedback.

Furthermore, it is to be reported that Gisela Zahn, the widow of our long-time chairman, Hans Zahn, has left to the family association all documents and books about the Zahn family, which Hans and partly still his father (Hans Zahn) have collected. We will add this important and extensive collection to our family archive in Moers. This collection will always remind us of Hans. We thank Gisela very much for this donation!

Jörn Herold and Werner Riedel report that so far everything is in good order at the family cemetery. They have lovingly taken care of the cemetery again this year. We thank both of them very much for their knowledgeable commitment!

Attached - along with your dues invoice, if applicable - you will find an updated info sheet on the procedures for burial in the family cemetery.

At this point, as every year, again the request to motivate your closer relatives to a membership in our family association or at least to a first contact, if not already done. It would also be helpful for us to have contact details first, so that we can make ourselves known through our newsletters and invitations.

Stay healthy and keep in touch!

We wish you - despite the renewed lockdown - Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy New Year!

Greetings from your

Sabine, Friederike and Hans
